Kenya-born Man Charged Over Visa Breach In Queensland

A Kenya-born man appeared before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday (10 October, 2025) charged after allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated curfew conditions.

The AFP charged the man, 28, on Friday (10 October, 2025), after he was located in Brisbane.

It will be alleged the man breached one of the conditions of his Commonwealth visa by failing to remain at a notified address. 

The man has been charged with one count of failing to remain at a notified address, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

The maximum penalty for this offence is five years' imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.

He is next due to appear in court on 21 November, 2025.
