Works will soon begin at JJ Clancy Reserve in Kilmore to enhance safety, access and usability for local sporting clubs, families and visitors.
Shaped by feedback from reserve user groups and the wider community, the project aims to improve accessibility and safety while enhancing the overall experience for people visiting and using the reserve.
What is happening?
Safety and traffic flow improvements throughout the reserve
Formalised parking near key sporting and community areas
Landscape enhancements to complement the upgraded infrastructure
How will I be impacted?
While Council will work with nearby residents and user groups to minimise impact, there will be some temporary disruptions during the works, including:
No vehicle access to the reserve via Clarke Street - access will remain via Kellys Lane.
Pedestrian access to tennis courts via Clarke Street will remain.
Increased heavy truck and construction vehicle movements along Clarke Street and within the reserve
Temporary changes to parking arrangements near sporting and community facilities
Reduced access to some areas of the reserve at different stages of construction
Construction noise during standard working hours
Dust and minor vibration associated with construction activities
Temporary pedestrian detours around active work zones
Funded by Council with a $950,000 investment, construction is expected to be completed by April.
