Hawkesbury City Council is proud to acknowledge the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey on 6 May 2023.
His Royal Highness has a long history with Australia, having visited many times over the years, including the Hawkesbury on several occasions.
The Coronation will be a once-in-a-generation event – the first in almost 70 years. Pageantry and celebration will be on display in a religious ceremony conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury that has remained largely unchanged for a thousand years.
The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Sarah McMahon said many people across the Hawkesbury community would be watching the coronation broadcasts and "proud to join in the worldwide celebrations of this historic moment for the monarchy".
"This is an historic occasion to acknowledge The King and The Royal Family," Mayor McMahon said.
The Coronation ceremony will be broadcast on television and on various streaming services around the world.
In Australia, the ABC and ABC News will broadcast live coverage from London from 5pm AEST on 6 May. Listed below is the schedule for The Coronation and what time (AEST) it will air on the ABC:
