Kingsley Serious Crash now a Fatality, WA

Major Crash officers continue to seek information from the public to assist with their investigation into a serious crash which has now become a fatal crash that occurred in Kingsley on Tuesday, 26 December 2017.

Around 3:25pm, a black 2012 model Toyota Aurion travelling north on the Mitchell Freeway in the centre lane collided with the rear of a black 2007 model Hyundai Getz just prior to the Whitfords Avenue off ramp. The Hyundai was travelling in front of the Toyota in the same lane, WA Police say.

The driver of the Hyundai, an 81 year old woman from Cloverdale, received critical injuries and was conveyed to the Joondalup Health Campus. She passed away the following afternoon, 27 December 2017.

A 35 year old woman who was a passenger in the Toyota received serious injuries and was also conveyed to the Joondalup Health Campus. The 36 year old male driver of the Toyota received minor injuries.

At the time of the crash, a car towing a boat was stationary in the centre emergency lane of the freeway near the crash site.

Major Crash investigators would like to speak to the driver of the stationery car towing the boat, and the driver of a beige coloured car that travelled between the two crashed vehicles just prior to the crash.
