Kingsway Armed Robbery Arrest, WA

Joondalup Detectives have charged a 21 year old woman as a result of their investigation into an armed robbery incident at a Kingsway shopping centre yesterday, Sunday 26 March 2017.

At approximately 2:30pm, staff members of a department store located within the Wanneroo Road shopping centre, saw a customer place various items in her handbag. It will be alleged when staff asked to check her bag she threatened them with a knife before walking from the store. , WA Police say

A short time later the woman was confronted by a security guard who also asked to look inside her bag. It is further alleged she threatened him with a knife but he was able to restrain her until police arrived.

The woman from Greenwood has been charged with:-

•Armed Robbery;

•Armed to Cause Fear;

•Possess Prohibited Drug and

•Possess Stolen Property.

She is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, 27 March 2017.

There were numerous people within the shopping centre at the time of the incident and Detectives would like to speak to anyone that saw the altercation in the store or with the security guard.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
