Victoria's child protection crisis under Labor has worsened, with new statistics revealing an alarming increase in the number of vulnerable children left without support.

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's annual report revealed a steep rise in unallocated child protection cases.

The figures provided by the Department reveal that as of June 2023, 16.1 per cent of child protection clients were classified as "unallocated" without an active case worker. This percentage of unallocated cases is the highest since the 2017-18 financial year.
