Camden Council is proud to sponsor Run Camden, a community running event that will bring together runners, walkers, families and fitness enthusiasts for a day of activity and fun.

Run Camden, hosted by Elite Energy Events, will be on Sunday 19 July. The event offers something for participants of all ages and abilities, with a half marathon, 10-kilometre run, five-kilometre run and two-kilometre fun run all taking place from Camden Showground.

The event showcases some of Camden's most scenic locations and provides a great opportunity for residents and visitors alike to challenge themselves, stay active and enjoy the outdoors while connecting with the community.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said Council was pleased to support an event that encourages healthy lifestyles and community participation.

"Run Camden is a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages and fitness levels to get involved, challenge themselves and experience the best of what our community has to offer," she said.

"As a proud sponsor of the event, Council is excited to welcome participants from across Camden and surrounding areas for what promises to be a great day of fitness, fun and community spirit."

In addition to participating in the event, residents are encouraged to consider volunteering on the day. A variety of volunteer roles are available, including athlete registration, course-marshalling and assisting with post-race refreshments.

Volunteers can register individually or as part of a family, sports club, charity or school group, making it a great way to support the community while being part of a major local event.

Residents are reminded that even though Camden Town Farm is in use, it is still open to those not competing in the event.
