The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon will reopen on Monday 8 August, following its biennial maintenance program.
Maintenance works started 18 July and required the lagoon to be drained for some of the works to be completed, therefore a full closure was needed.
The maintenance program included repairs and upgrades to the pool's surface, lighting, pump systems and amenities.
The lagoon will be open seven days a week, Thursday to Tuesday from 6am to 9pm, and from midday to 9pm on Wednesday to allow for weekly maintenance.
There may be some ongoing minor works next week, which could impact the Active Living program.
