An 18-year-old Meadow Heights man, who has had his licence for less that three weeks, will be back on public transport after allegedly speeding in Lalor last night.
Officers detected a Ford Falcon sedan travelling at 97 km/h in a 60 km/h section of Dalton Road.
They intercepted the car and spoke to the probationary driver.
He received an infringement notice for excessive speed which carries a $620 penalty.
The man also had his licence suspended for six months.
