Lancaster retains top 10 position in Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide

Lancaster has retained a place in the top 10 UK universities in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021, and continues to be the highest ranked university in the Northwest.

Building on the success of being named International University of the Year by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020, Lancaster has secured a top ten spot for the 5th consecutive year.

This means Lancaster continues to be ranked top ten in all three major HE league tables – the Complete University Guide, Guardian and The Times and Sunday Times.

Professor Andy Schofield, Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University, said: “I am delighted to see Lancaster University ranked best in the North West and again another top ten UK ranking. It is a testament to the world-class research and teaching that my colleagues at Lancaster provide and further evidence that this is a brilliant place to study, to research and to work and is a beacon of excellence in the region.”

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021 scores universities based on nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
