Land release provides crucial support for Pilbara industrial growth

    New stages have today been released at Gap Ridge Industrial Estate in Karratha and at Hedland Junction, part of the Wedgefield Industrial Estate near Port Hedland.

    Lands Minister Tony Buti was in Port Hedland and South Hedland today with Pilbara MLA Kevin Michel to inspect the DevelopmentWA project sites.

    Stage 3 at Hedland Junction comprises five lots ranging in size from 1.5 hectares to 2.4 hectares which are suitable for a wide variety of industrial and transport related uses.

    Eight lots have been released in Stage 5 at Gap Ridge with three of those designated light industrial and five general industrial.

    The lots, ranging in size from 6,722 square kilometres to 2.97 hectares, are now available for purchase, with titles due late 2022.

    Gap Ridge is one of the largest industrial estates in regional Western Australia and is strategically located on Dampier Road, just 9 kilometres from the Karratha town centre and 2km from Karratha airport.

    Major projects supported at Gap Ridge include Chevron’s Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG projects and Woodside’s Pluto LNG operations, with occupants at the estate including Toll, Monadelphous, Centurion, Swire Oilfield Services and Coates Hire.

    The release of Stage 3 at Hedland Junction, located 12km from Port Hedland and 5km from South Hedland, offers excellent potential for businesses servicing the mining, construction and transport industries.

    The estate offers a variety of lots for light and general industrial use, attracting new businesses to the area and supporting the expansion of the existing Hedland industry.

    Stages 1 and 2 of Hedland Junction have already sold out with more than 20 businesses already located in the precinct including Bridgestone, Qube, Reece Plumbing and Komatsu.

    All lots at Hedland Junction are serviced with power and water and located within a National Broadband Network (NBN) nominated estate. Lots within Gap Ridge are serviced by power, water, sewer and NBN.
