Ararat Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a surprise find in Stawell on Friday (20 March).
Stawell police intercepted a ute that was detected allegedly travelling at 142km/h on the Western Highway about 1.30pm.
The 23-year-old driver was found to be unlicensed.
Police searched the vehicle and located approximately 6kg of what is alleged to be methyl amphetamine with an estimated street value of $6 million.
The Coolaroo man was arrested, had his car impounded and has been charged with traffick a large commercial quantity of methamphetamine and other traffic-related offences.
He has been remanded to reappear at Horsham Magistrates' Court on 17 June.
