Bayside school students can win $500 in this year’s Ellen Jose awards program celebrating Reconciliation.
The award program is a legacy to local Torres Strait artist and educator Ellen Jose who passed away in 2017. Now in their third year, the awards reflect Ellen Jose’s inspirational commitment to building awareness of Reconciliation in Bayside and beyond.
Entrants are asked to interpret “What Reconciliation means through their eyes”.
Primary students are asked to demonstrate what reconciliation means to them through art while secondary students will write an essay. The winning entries from each category receive a $500 prize.
Entries close: 10 May 2021
The top ten artworks and the top ten writing pieces will be displayed at the Bayside Corporate Centre, 76 Royal Avenue Sandringham from 17 May- 28 June 2021.
