Lancaster University has been named as one of the world’s top universities for the study of 22 subjects, according to the latest edition of the world’s most-consulted university ranking.
The 2021 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, compiled and released today by global higher education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds, names the world’s best universities for the study of 51 academic disciplines.
Lancaster University saw 22 of its subjects included in the prestigious listings – with one subject ranking 15th in the world.
The QS rankings provide authoritative comparative analysis on the performance of 14,435 individual university programs, taken by students at 1,452 universities which can be found in 86 locations across the world, across 51 academic disciplines and five broad Faculty Areas.
Subjects in the QS world top 100 at Lancaster included:
· Linguistics (15th)
· Accounting and Finance (51st)
· English Language and Literature (51st)
· Business and Management Studies (66th)
· Environmental Sciences (joint 67th)
· Sociology (joint 69th)
· Arts and Humanities (joint 79th)
· Art and Design
Subjects coming in within the top ranked 150 in the world in the QS rankings included: Communication and Media studies, Computer Science and Information Systems, Modern Languages, Education, Psychology, Social Sciences and Management, Theology, Divinity and Religious studies.
Lancaster University is among the best in the UK. Top 10 in three major national league tables, the university is also highly ranked in international league tables.
