Residents are invited to celebrate the launch of two more Council+ centres in Laverton and Seabrook.
Council+ allows residents to do all their Council-related business – including paying their rates, upsizing their bins, applying for permits and more – at libraries and community centres, while still enjoying the traditional expertise of those services.
The Laverton Community Hub and Seabrook Community Centre have joined the Altona North Community Library, Hobsons Bay Civic Centre and Williamstown Library in becoming Council+ sites.
The Seabrook Community Centre will celebrate cultural diversity week and the launch of the Council+ site from 1pm to 4.45pm on Thursday 16 March.
There will be book giveaways, activities, a Story Time session and an Earth Children Clay workshop. Enjoy an afternoon tea celebrating the launch of Council+ services and chat to staff about any Council service.
The Laverton Community Hub will celebrate Global Recycling Day and the launch of the Council+ site from 11.30am to 3pm on Saturday 18 March.
There will be a Trash Puppet workshop and show, tree giveaways, face painting, food truck and staff from various areas of Council to talk to residents about our services.
"Our Council+ sites are making it so much easier for our residents to connect with their Council. Instead of having to go into the Civic Centre to do their council business, they're able to do it much closer to home," Mayor of Hobsons Bay, Cr Tony Briffa, said.
"We're so pleased to see the Laverton and Seabrook community centres come on board. I'm sure local residents will see the benefits of having a Council+ site in their area."
