A learner driver and her supervisor have been charged with high-range drink-driving on the Central Coast overnight.
About 11.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 19 May 2021), police patrolling Wyong Road, Berkeley Vale, observed a white 2008 Ford Ranger Ute driving with no headlights.
Officers attached to the Central Coast Highway Patrol stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver. The woman was subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.
Subsequent checks showed the woman, aged 54, was the holder of a learner's licence.
The passenger, a fully licensed 60-year-old man, was also subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.
Both learner and supervisor were arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station, for the purpose of a breath analysis test.
The woman allegedly returned a reading of 0.183; a learner driver must have a zero-blood alcohol level.
The man allegedly returned a reading of 0.162.
They were both issued Court Attendance Notices for high-range PCA offences and will appear at Wyong Local Court on Monday 28 June 2021.
The woman and man had their licences suspended.
