Learner driver caught drink driving, SA

A learner driver was caught drink driving at Ardrossan this afternoon, according to SA Police.

Ardrossan Police pulled over a vehicle on Tiddy Widdy Road, Ardrossan just after 3.30pm on Tuesday 23 August for a mobile driver test.

The driver, a 26-year-old woman from the Yorke Pensinsula, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.187. Police checks revealed she was holder of a learner's permit, but did not have a qualified supervising driver.

Of concern to police, there were two young children in the vehicle at the time. Families SA have been advised of the detection.

The woman was issued with an immediate 12-month loss of licence and her vehicle will be clamped for 28 days.

She was reported for drink driving and breaching the conditions of her learner's permit and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
