Lights on but nobody home

Wangaratta Highway Patrol members have arrested three men after pulling over a vehicle in Wangaratta last night, Victoria Police say.

They were targeting drivers using their fog lights incorrectly when they detected a vehicle with the rear fog lights on in clear conditions.

The driver was spoken to and it was discovered the 26-year-old Benalla man was unlicensed and returned a positive breath test.

The vehicle was searched and police located a firearm, ammunition, drugs and cash.

The driver was arrested along with his two passengers, a 29-year-old Yarrawonga man and a 26-year-old Reservoir man.

The driver has been charged with refuse breath test, refuse oral fluid test, handle stolen goods, firearm and drug related offences.

The other men were charged with handle stolen goods, firearm and drug related offences.

All three men have been remanded to appear in Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
