Lindner adjunct instructor We Are Making Black History honoree

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber has named Chanda Monroe-Williams one of its seven honorees for its We Are Making Black History campaign.

Monroe-Williams, an adjunct instructor in the department of operations, business analytics and information systems at the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business, grew up in Cincinnati and earned a psychology degree from UC. Monroe-Williams and the other six honorees - which include UC Board Trustee J. Phillip Holloman - were recognized at the Chamber's annual dinner late last week.

She also partnered with Allstate, the late Jerry Pryor and Karla Irvine of Housing Opportunities Made Equal to make the City of Cincinnati an Empowerment Zone, which Monroe-Williams said elicited over $200 million of investment in the region.

"I also created the concept of establishing social innovation centers into inner cities to help bridge the digital literacy gap," Monroe-Williams said. "Quarantine Coffee Chats w/ Chanda continues to highlight and advocate for issues that need to be improved by procuring resources, disseminating information, or providing pro bono services. In 2019 alone, I provided over $500k in community pro bono services and encouraged others to do the same."
