Bayside Council approved the proposed off-leash dog park for Linear Park in Mascot at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 24 August.
Linear Park is a well-used green space in a high-density area, and residents have asked for more recreational facilities. A recent petition called for a safe, enclosed space where dogs can exercise off-leash, separate from other park users.
Council asked for community feedback on the proposed design in July this year and more than 94 percent of respondents supported the project, with some suggesting changes or further enhancements that were considered in the proposal.
Council will now proceed with the detailed construction design for the off-leash dog park.
