Upgrades to Wagga Wagga City Council's Livestock Marketing Centre (LMC) are advancing on schedule, with several key projects delivered at the site in recent weeks and others progressing well.
At the heart of these upgrades is the refurbished LMC Canteen, a central hub for buyers, sellers and agents on sale days, which was officially reopened for use in late August 2025.
The upgrade includes revitalised service areas, partial kitchen renewals, a repaint and new furniture, offering a more welcoming, refreshed and efficient space for the community.
Council's Director Economy, Business & Workforce Fiona Piltz confirmed the upgrades are already making a difference.
"Reaching these goals is an important step in ensuring the LMC remains a world-class facility, even during construction," Ms Piltz said.
"The improvements to infrastructure, amenities and site resources all enhance the experience for agents, buyers and the broader community, while supporting animal welfare outcomes."
Works to realign cattle and sheep ramps are also well advanced. All six new cattle ramps are fully operational, while eight of nine new sheep ramps are complete and in use.
Demolition of the final sheep draft ramp has been finished, with concreting underway and offsite construction of the new ramp progressing.
Completion is expected on this aspect of the LMC upgrades by mid-November 2025.

The Sheep and Goat Electronic Identification (EiD) System feasibility study has reached another milestone, with the generator now installed and electrical cabling underway.
This stage is due for completion by mid-September 2025, as weather allows.
Landscaping and signage improvements are nearing completion, with tree planting finished, irrigation progressing, and new signage scheduled for installation by the end of September 2025.
All works continue to be delivered as seasonal conditions and contractor availability permit.
