We're proud to join councils across New South Wales in celebrating Local Government Week, running from Monday 4 to Sunday 10 August.
This annual event is a great opportunity to shine a light on the many ways local government supports our community. While roads, rates and rubbish are often front of mind, Council's work goes far beyond the basics.
From maintaining parks, sportsgrounds and community centres to running libraries, cultural venues and aquatic facilities, we're here to help make Lake Macquarie a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable place to live.
We're also committed to protecting our natural environment and supporting the lifestyle that makes our city so special. Local Government Week is a chance to learn more about the services we provide and how you can get involved.
Looking forward, our 2025-2026 Operational Plan will see $389 million injected into the community.
We're poised to spend $105.9 million on capital works over the next financial year, with a strong focus on core pillars of business, like road maintenance and rehabilitation, waste management, community facilities, parks and playgrounds.
