As part of the process to develop a Coastal Management Program for our northern estuaries, anyone who values or is interested in Arrawarra Creek, Pipe Clay Lake and Corindi River estuaries is invited to come to a community drop-in session hosted by the City of Coffs Harbour in early March.
Progress on the Program for Arrawarra Creek, Pipe Clay Lake and Corindi River, and the draft actions proposed to help improve and enhance these waterways, will be outlined at the sessions where people can discuss the options with the team developing the Program and provide feedback.
An initial list of potential options has been developed - following an earlier survey, stakeholder consultation and previous studies - including improved land use planning, foreshore management, stormwater and water quality outcomes, and environmental monitoring.
This is the final stage of the development of the Program and a final draft document is expected to be placed on public exhibition in the latter half of 2023 for further community review and feedback.
It's important to be aware that any management actions for the estuaries contained in the final Program will be dependent on the availability of future funding and resources, and are shared across a number of different agencies.
There will be two sessions in the Red Rock and Corindi areas and you can drop in any time during the sessions to view displays and chat with the project team.
