Council, at its 8 April 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting, resolved to adopt amendments to the following local planning policies for the purpose of advertising:
- Local Planning Policy 2.23: Register of Significant Trees and Vegetation Areas
- Local Planning Policy 2.26: Tree Retention
Amendments to LPP 2.26 extend the current tree protections to include lots coded up to R40 within the City, as well as the addition of a list of undesirable tree species which would be exempt from requiring development approval to be removed.
LPP 2.23 has been amended to ensure alignment and consistency with the tree protection and tree replacement provisions of LPP2.26.
