Local Rideshare Supporting Local Business

Lumi Ride

The Lumi Fund is supporting Melbourne businesses. Here for the local community.

What started as a good deed for a restaurant La Tienda Melbourne, has sparked something within Lumi. John Gomez, owner of La Tienda, during the major lockdown last year, did a really beautiful thing, he gifted over 2000 Meals, no questions asked. Feeding those who needed it, with food that could've gone to waste.
"As this lockdown occurred John was spent seeing food yet again go to waste and forced to let go of staff", Ivan Gomez, Head of Brand at Lumi Ride.
This is how Lumi Ride came to help.
The first step, free home delivery for all La Tienda customers. The second step was not to charge even a 1 cent to La Tienda or the customers. For many that extra delivery cost is the difference between being able to afford that meal. It also allowed John to keep his staff employed while delivering orders since Friday night.
At Lumi, we still kept paying our drivers their salary.
Lumi employs our drivers and we run based on ethics first mentality. It's about locals driving locals. We are launching the Lumi Fund to continue supporting local businesses. We want to make sure that perishables be it food or flowers don't go to waste while keeping people employed.
Lumi is here to help!
If you have something that needs to be used in the next few days, step forward. If we can service your area we will allow you into the fund and we will deploy drivers to your business to deliver to your local community. Huddling together as a community during tough times is the key.
"Our drivers work with you as a team, as an extension of your business. We are building partnerships and jobs, not gigs", Carl Breitenbach, Lumi Ride CEO.
We will take on as many as we can service and resource. We genuinely believe if we have a village mentality on how we collaborate and help each other we can make a difference.
Cabs and Uber are just a mess.
Global brands are taking their tech over the top and their marketing spend to manipulate the small business to charge them 20 to 30% is not "doing well while doing good" to deliver a piece of food or product.
We can do much better as a Community.
If you know a local business that could do with some assistance, please have them email fund
