The Crisafulli Government is delivering Olympic procurement opportunities for Logan small and medium businesses, maximising the local benefits of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Local businesses were invited to hear from the Crisafulli Government, Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee and City of Logan about how they can prepare to secure Games-related contracts.
The 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Procurement Opportunities event highlighted the wide range of opportunities for businesses to supply goods and services for the Games across construction, transport, technology, security, event services and more.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering an Olympic legacy for Logan, including a new indoor sports centre, with capacity for 7,000 spectators during the Games, before becoming a premier community sporting venue for future generations.
After 1,200 days of Games chaos under the former Labor Government, the Crisafulli Government is implementing its 2032 Delivery Plan and getting on with the job of delivering a legacy that Queenslanders can be proud of.
Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said Queensland businesses would play a central role in delivering a successful Games.
"The Crisafulli Government is delivering a Games for all of Queensland, and that means putting our local businesses first in line to secure Games contracts," Minister Mander said.
"Queensland is on the cusp of an extraordinary opportunity, it's critical that we take advantage of that at the local level, developing grassroots sport, boosting local tourism and giving our businesses the best chance to succeed.
"We want local businesses in Logan to be fully equipped to take advantage of these procurement opportunities, maximising their contribution to the Games."
Minister for Small and Family Business Steve Minnikin said Logan's small business community was ready to deliver the innovation and value to support the delivery of this world class event.
"We know Logan businesses deliver quality across a range of industries, from manufacturing to logistics and this a chance to showcase those skills and products to the world," Minister Minnikin said.
"Now is the time for small and medium businesses to prepare and position themselves to tender for the wide range of goods and services needed to deliver the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games."
