Lund University is strengthening its position as one of Europe's leading universities and ranks the highest among the Nordic universities in the QS World University Rankings: Europe 2026.

That we are now ranked as the leading university in the Nordic region and as number one in the world for sustainability, is both recognition of our work and a responsibility. We will continue to focus on knowledge, innovation and openness, something that has already had impact both nationally and internationally," says Erik Renström, Vice-Chancellor of Lund University.
Lund University is ranked a joint 12th in Europe, which is an improvement of one position compared with last year. In total, this year's ranking covers more than 950 universities in 42 European countries. Overall, this ranking shows that Nordic universities continue to strengthen their positions in Europe, with Lund University as the clear regional leader.
