A Lyndhurst man has remained cool, calm, and collected despite receiving the thrilling phone call that he'd bagged $20,000 a month for the next 20 years in last night's Set for Life draw.
The Melbourne resident held the only division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 3833, drawn Monday 2 February 2026. He can look forward to a total division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
When we broke the news, the winning man revealed he'd been going about his usual morning routine and was just moments away from checking his tickets.
"Wow! Thank you, thank you very much!" he laughed.
"I just woke up and brushed my teeth. I was about to have my morning coffee and check my tickets.
"I've been playing the same numbers for years. They were random numbers I chose around five years ago and I just continued to replay them.
"I'm pretty calm because I never get shocked by most things. Even if you said I'd won $50 million, I would be just sitting like nothing happened."
When asked how he planned to enjoy his annuity prize for the next two decades, the Victorian shared he'd need some time to think about it.
"I'm not sure yet. I have no plans for now but I will say it'll help me a lot," he said.
"I don't plan to tell anyone. I'll just keep it chill.
"I'll start celebrating once I see the money in my bank account!"
His winning marked 3-game entry was purchased via The Lott app - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
