Macquarie Point appointments raise more questions

Tasmanian Labor

The Liberal government has more questions to answer after the appointment of two new non-executive directors to the Macquarie Point Development Corporation board.

After pouring nearly $130 million into Macquarie Point over nearly a decade, then deciding to build a $750 million stadium instead, the government established the Major Stadiums unit in the department of State Growth to plan and deliver major stadium developments for Tasmania.

So who is responsible for building this unnecessary and unwanted stadium? Is it the Macquarie Point Development Corporation or Major Stadiums?

And, if it is the latter, what is the point of the Macquarie Point Development Corporation?

The Liberal government is making it up as it goes along and doesn't seem to be able to keep up with its own decisions.

This is no way to manage major projects and developments.
