Major Boost for Housing and Homelessness

The 2026-27 Budget will deliver strong investment into housing and homelessness, with almost $600 million over the next four years.

The Tasmanian Government is delivering vital wraparound services and investments into bricks and mortar for all Tasmanians.

Minister for Housing and Planning, Kerry Vincent, said even with tighter budget settings, frontline services remain the priority.

"What happens overseas affects Tasmania's revenues and costs," Minister Vincent said.

"Rising global uncertainty makes cautious budgeting essential, and the need to preserve our frontline services is more important than ever before.

"The 2026-27 Budget invests in frontline services and housing is front and centre.

"We are almost halfway towards our ambitious target of 10,000 more social and affordable homes, we have brilliant support services, and we must see this continue.

"Our Government is supercharging the delivery of housing and infrastructure across this state with Building Tasmania.

"This Budget will deliver a stronger economy and a caring community."
