Police have charged a 42-year-old man after the alleged discovery of a large quantity of methylamphetamine with a street value of $20,000 and a sum of cash during a vehicle intercept at Kingston.
Around 8.50pm on Friday (September 10), Logan Tactical Crime Squad officers were patrolling when they observed two vehicles driving erratically along Logan Motorway.
Police followed one of the vehicles to an address at Kingston where the car parked in a driveway.
A man ran from the vehicle and was detained by police nearby.
It is alleged while fleeing the man was observed to discard a bag containing 52 grams of methylamphetamine.
Police recovered the bag and also located $890 in cash in the man's possession.
A 42-year-old man from Moorooka has been charged with possess a dangerous drug, possess proceeds and possess utensil.
He appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody to reappear at a later date.
Police also located the second vehicle and arrested a 30-year-old man after it is alleged one gram of methamphetamine was located behind his steering wheel.
He has been given a notice to appear for possession of a dangerous drug and is expected to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 20.
