Making a move on future of Box Hill

Council is reviewing the vision and strategic directions for Box Hill and the public is encouraged to provide feedback by 2 August 2019.

Whitehorse Mayor Councillor Bill Bennett said Box Hill was a Metropolitan Activity Centre under current state government planning strategy Plan Melbourne 2017-2050 and was to be the focus of substantial development, growth and investment.

"The Box Hill Transit City Activity Centre Structure Plan was adopted by Council in 2007 and is the current guiding document for Council, our stakeholders and the community," Cr Bennett said.

"Since then, Box Hill has changed significantly which means it's time to review and update the 2007 plan to position Box Hill as a great place to live, work and visit."

Council has now released the Box Hill Metropolitan Activity Centre Analysis and Options Report for consultation. This report provides a summary of the current state in Box Hill and also identifies opportunities for the future.

"It is important that Council has the community's feedback on this report before moving on to the next phase of the project when recommendations for Box Hill will be formed."

Two drop-in sessions will also be held. You can drop in any time to talk directly with the project team.
