Bass Coast Shire Council is developing a new Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan, and community feedback will play an important role in shaping the priorities and actions it includes.
Thanks to funding from the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), we're working to better understand the big and small road safety issues that affect people every day. Your insights will help shape future actions and initiatives aimed at making our roads safer for everyone.
Road safety remains a significant issue in Bass Coast. Between 2015 and 2024, there were:
- 22 lives lost on our roads
- 311 crashes resulting in serious injuries
- 822 crashes in total
Behind every statistic is a person, a family and a community affected. Even one life lost is one too many.
Whether you drive a car or truck, catch public transport, walk, ride a bicycle or motorcycle, your experiences matter. By sharing what you've seen and experienced on our roads, paths and streets, you can help us identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement.
