Man arrested after body located in Hurstville

A man is in custody after the body of another man was discovered at Hurstville early this morning, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 6am today (Saturday13 January 2018), members of the public located the body of a man near the Forrest Road entrance to Hurstville Railway Station.

The man had suffered severe lacerations.

Emergency services were contacted and police from St George Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Shortly after police arrested a man nearby, and seized an edged weapon.

That man has been taken to Kogarah Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
