A man has been charged with firearm offences in the state's Riverina.
About 7.40pm yesterday (Tuesday 23 July 2026), police were called to a business on Bolger Ave, Mount Austin, following reports a man allegedly produced a firearm whilst in his car, after he allegedly refused service.
The man fled the scene in a utility.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.
About 7.20am today ( Friday 24 July 2026), a 36-year-old man was arrested in Fernleigh Road, Mount Austin.
He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.
About 10:40am today, police executed a search warrant at a home in Manoora, Mount Austin.
Police seized a gel blaster rifle, slug gun rifle, two gel blaster pistols and gel blaster ammunition.
The 36-year-old was charged with use etc offensive weapon within intent to commit indictable; stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal), possess greater than 3 unregistered firearms, not keep firearm safely-pistol, not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm.
He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 5 tomorrow (Saturday 25 July 2026).
