A man has been arrested after a police officer was injured while on-duty at Coffs Harbour early this morning.
About 4am (Friday 13 June 2025), police from Coffs/Clarence Police District were patrolling King Street, Coffs Harbour, following reports of cars being broken into.
When police arrived, a man allegedly rode a motorbike towards a police officer, striking him on the leg.
The constable – aged 24 – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital for treatment of a fracture to his leg.
The rider of the motorbike – a 19-year-old man – was arrested nearby a short time later.
He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where inquiries are ongoing.
Officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit have established a crime scene on King Street.
