Man arrested for historic child sexual abuse, WA

Fremantle Detectives have charged a 48 year old man as a result of their extensive investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse by a swim teacher.

It will be alleged between 2015 and 2017 the man sexually assaulted a girl who was 14 years of age at the time of the first offence, whilst she was a student at his swimming school, WA Police say.

The man from Beeliar has been charged with:-

•Six Counts of Indecent Dealing of a Child over the age of 13 and under 16 years Whilst Under Supervision;

•Four counts of Used an Electronic Device to Procure a Child over the age of 13 years and under 16 years to Engage in Sexual Activity; and

•One count of Procure a Child over the age of 13 years and under 16 years to Engage in Sexual Behaviour.

He appeared in the Fremantle Magistrates Court today and is next is due to appear on Monday, 17 July 2017.

Inquiries are ongoing and detectives urge anyone with any information regarding this investigation to call Crime Stoppers.
