Man arrested; toy firearms seized in Berkeley

A man has been arrested after allegedly pointing a toy firearm at a woman in Berkeley yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 3.40pm (Thursday 18 October 2018), police will allege a man was riding a bike along Winnima Way, when he approached a woman at a bus stop, and pointed what appeared to be a firearm at her.

The man rode off and a witness notified officers from Lake Illawarra Police District.

Following inquiries, a 20-year-old man was arrested at a home on Holburn Street, where officers also seized toy firearms.

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, and later released pending further inquiries.
