Man assaulted during Adelaide break-in

Police are investigating a break-in and assault at Adelaide last night.

About 11pm on Sunday 16 February, police and ambulance crews were called to Grote Street, after reports that a man had broken into a butcher's shop and assaulted the owner with a solid object.

The victim suffered head injuries and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s, about 190cm tall, solid build, light-coloured shirt, dark-coloured pants and dark-coloured shoes. He was also carrying a white bag.
