Man assaulted during break-in Smithfield Plains, SA

Police are investigating a break-in at Smithfield Plains this morning where the occupant of a house was assaulted by three people, according to SA Police.

About 5.30am on Thursday 6 August, police were called to Crittenden Road after reports that three men armed with weapons had broken into a home and assaulted the occupant.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, suffered head injuries and was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The three men were allegedly wearing balaclavas and left in a white 4WD.

Northern CIB detectives are investigating and the incident is not believed to be random.
