Man assaulted during road-rage incident - Mays Hill

A man has been arrested after another man was assaulted during a road rage incident Sydney's west today.

Just after 9am (Sunday 19 April 2020), police were called to Margaret Street, Mays Hill – near Parramatta – following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and found a 68-year-old man suffering head injuries.

Police have been told a Ford Territory and Ford Falcon were involved in a minor collision on the M4 before they stopped in Margaret Street.

The Falcon driver punched the Territory driver in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and conveyed the 68-year-old Territory driver to Westmead Hospital for treatment to a laceration to his head.

The Falcon driver fled on foot and, with the assistance of Pol Air and the Dog Unit, was arrested in a nearby laneway off Rees Street.

The 27-year-old, from Carlingford, was conveyed to Westmead Hospital for treatment before being taken to Granville Police Station.

The 68-year-old, from Westmead, is in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries continue.
