A man will face court, charged with drug supply offences after police allegedly seized more than 55kg of cannabis during a vehicle stop in the state's Riverina region.
About 11am yesterday (Wednesday 29 July 2026), officers attached to Riverina Traffic and Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on the Hume Highway, Mount Adrah, about 30km east of Gundagai, as part of proactive policing operations.
Following inquiries, police conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly located more than 55kg of cannabis.
The drugs were seized and will undergo forensic examination.
The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle – a 36-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Cootamundra Police Station, where Riverina Detectives took carriage of the matter.
He was charged with supply prohibited drug more than commercial quantity.
He was refused bail and will appear before Bail Division Court 5 today (Thursday 30 July 2026).
