Man Charged After Injuring Officers in Hunters Hill

A man will face court after two police officers were injured in Sydney's northwest last night.

Around 8.30pm yesterday (Saturday 2 December 2023), officers from Ryde Police Area Command attempted to stop a silver Audi sedan on Ryde Road, Gladesville.

A pursuit was initiated after the vehicle failed to stop; however, was terminated due to safety concerns.

The Audi collided into a Toyota Kluger on Gladesville Road, Hunters Hill.

The driver of the Audi reversed into two approaching officers before it crashed into a unit complex.

The man was arrested and taken to Gladesville Police Station.

The two male officers – a Constable and a Probationary Constable - have been conveyed to hospital both in stable conditions.

The 33-year-old was charged with intentionally choke person with recklessness, assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, learner not accompanied by driver/police officer/tester, learner driver not display "L" plates as prescribed.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 3 December 2023).
