Man Charged After Kingston House Fire Investigation

A 46-year-old Kingston man has been charged following an investigation into a house fire and related offences at Kingston early Sunday morning.

Police will allege the man attended a residence on Redwood Road shortly after midnight on Sunday 16 August 2026 and ignited a fire inside the property. A male occupant was present at the time and was not seriously injured.

The man has been charged with arson and a number of other offences, including assault, property damage and breaches of bail conditions.

He was arrested by police on Sunday and has been detained to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.
