A man will appear before court charged with serious traffic offences committed in Sydney's south.
About 9.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 16 December 2025), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a white Toyota Corolla due to its manner of driving along Southern Cross Drive, Mascot.
The driver – a 20-year-old man – was subjected to a drug test.
It will be alleged that as officers were awaiting the result to be analysed the man drove from the scene at high speed where a pursuit was initiated.
The vehicle was involved in a minor collision with a blue Subaru WRX driven by a 25-year-old man.
Police will allege the vehicle continued driving where it was involved in a second collision a short time later with a taxi at the intersection of The Grand Parade and Bay Street, Brighton Le Sands.
The 55-year-old male driver of the taxi was not injured. A 24-year-old female passenger suffered minor concussion and was taken to St George Hospital as a precaution by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The 20-year-old man was removed from the vehicle by officers and arrested at the scene.
It will be further alleged the man reached speeds of 160kph during the pursuit.
Police will further allege that the man was the holder of a Provisional licence and the vehicle was not displaying P plates as required.
He was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he underwent a secondary drug test that allegedly returned a positive reading.
The result will undergo further examination.
