Man charged, firearm seized in Sutherland

A man has been charged after a firearm was seized at a home in Sydney’s south yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 7pm yesterday, officers from Sutherland Local Area Command attended a unit block on Railway Crescent, Jannali, following reports of a domestic dispute.

A 45-year-old man was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station.

Police returned to the home and allegedly located a shortened shotgun and ammunition. All items were seized.

The man was charged with common assault, unauthorised possession of firearm, possess unregistered firearm, posses shortened firearm, possess ammunition without licence or permit, and not keep firearm safe.

He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today.
