Man Charged for Ramming Police Motorcycle in Bairnsdale

East Gippsland Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged a 27-year-old man following a collision with a police motorcycle in Bairnsdale today.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Forge Creek Road and Racecourse Road just after midday.

It is alleged a car rammed a police motorcycle ejecting the officer to the ground.

The driver was then intercepted by a second police motorcycle and arrested.

The male police officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A Paynesville man has been charged with nine charges including drive in a manner dangerous, intentionally expose emergency worker to risk by driving, conduct endangering life, assault police, damage to emergency services vehicle and other related offences.

He has been remanded to appear at Sale Magistrates' Court on 18 September.
