Two boys have been charged after vehicles were allegedly stolen, and man has been charged with several offences after allegedly recruiting youths to steal cars in exchange for money.
About 1.30am on Tuesday 6 January 2026, police were called to a home on Wellbank Street, Concord, following reports two cars had been stolen following a break and enter.
About 2.20am that day, police attached to Blacktown Police Area Command engaged in a pursuit of one of the stolen vehicles - a white Hyundai i30 - in Doonside, before road spikes were deployed on Richmond Road, near the M7, and the vehicle came to a stop on Paget Street.
Investigators attached to Strike Force Sweetenham commenced an investigation into the incident.
The alleged driver - a 16-year-old boy - was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with:
- Police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously
- Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner
- Learner not accompanied
- Aggravated enter dwelling with intent to commit a serious indictable offence - knowing people there
- Drive conveyance without consent of owner
- Dispose motor vehicle part - theft equal to serious indictable offence
He was refused bail to appear before a childrens court on Tuesday 6 January 2026, where he was formally refused bail. He will appear again on Friday 13 February 2026.
About 7am the same day (Tuesday 6 January 2026), police located the second stolen vehicle - a Mercedes sedan - driving through Doonside, before the vehicle stopped on Mountview Avenue and a 15-year-old-boy was arrested.
He was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail to appear before a childrens court the same day (Tuesday 6 January 2026) where he was granted conditional bail, and will next appear on Tuesday 10 February 2026.
Following further inquiries, today (Thursday 29 January 2026), police executed a search warrant at a home on Cruickshank Crescent, Riverstone, where they seized $10,900 cash and mobile devices.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and taken Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with:
- Knowingly direct activities of criminal group
- Recruit child to carry out/assist criminal activity
- Steal motor vehicle (two counts)
- Receive motor vehicle part - theft equal to serious indictable offence
- Fail to comply with digital evidence access order direction
- Possess dedicated encrypted criminal communication device to commit serious criminal activity
He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court today (Thursday 29 January 2026).
Police will allege in court the man recruited youths to steal motor vehicles in exchange for money.
