Man Charged for Supplying Over Ton of Cannabis

Strike Force Greentree officers have charged a man with allegedly supplying over a tonne of cannabis as part of an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney's southwest.

In December 2024, officers attached to the Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad (RES) established Strike Force Greentree, to investigate numerous persons and syndicates advertising prohibited drugs for sale on an open-source website.

About 11.20am today (Thursday 23 October 2025), a 29-year-old man was arrested at Sydney Airport and taken to Mascot Police Station.

He was charged with five offences,

  • Take part supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity
  • Supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity (two counts)
  • Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
  • Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity

Police will allege in court the man purchased and supplied over 1,000kg of cannabis and dealt with over $800,000 cash deemed to be proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 7 tomorrow (Friday 24 September 2025).
