Man Charged for Threats Against Gosford MP

A man has been charged after allegedly inciting violence through online social media posts earlier this week.

Police will allege the man made a number of posts towards a female member of Parliament, making alleged threats of violence, threats to damage property and statements indicating an intention to locate the victim in public and cause her harm.

Following an investigation into the matter, police attached to Brisbane Water Police District arrested a 43-year-old man at Tascott about 8.00pm last night (Wednesday 5 August 2026).

He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with use carriage service to threaten serious harm.

The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court today (Thursday 6 August 2026).
